An update regarding Covid-19

Free Arts’ highest priority is the wellbeing of our valued community: youth, volunteers, supporters and staff. We have taken the steps to minimize any risk of COVID-19 by placing all in person programming on hold. For the time being, the Free Arts Staff is operating remotely and the best way to reach out to us is through email.

We have adjusted our strategy to provide alternatives for our elementary-aged youth to stay connected to Free Arts and their creativity, through this situation that is evolving daily. In the immediate, Free Arts NYC is working with 13 New York City partner sites and shelters to deliver art supplies and engaging interactive activity packets for kids and families through June.

In our Teen Arts Program, we have made plans for the 65 teens in our Creative Lab track to continue with their mentors in the digitalace and are providing the technical resources to those who need it. Additionally, we are sending art-making kits to all teens, launching our Portfolio Development program online, and developing virtual lesson plans and workshops for teens and mentors.

Free Arts relies on your support and generosity to continue our programs to ensure our youth have access to the healthy escape that art-making provides during this challenging time. We will continue to keep you updated and look forward to sharing fun ways to keep your creative juices flowing. To support our youth, please make a donation here.
