Lawrence Weiner
Lawrence Weiner, our 2018 Art Auction honoree, welcomed our teens into his studio for an engaged conversation about art, language, and his life’s work. Inspired by their level of awareness and sophistication, Lawrence concluded the visit with a prompt:
“Not why I am born but now that I am born what do I do?”
Our teens took this prompt to heart, discussing their ideas, researching fonts, and crafting their answers with individually designed ampersands which were displayed at our event.
