Chappell Roan Tarot Card

Chappell Roan Tarot Card, 2024
Digital drawing
4 × 6 inches
Framed
Chappell’s recent appearance and performance at the VMAs inspired me into making this piece. I have always been a fan of her music and visuals. When I first saw her carpet outfit I was stunned by the details and had to draw it. In the process of creating this piece, I realized it looked similar to a design in tarot cards, hence why I chose to go this route into the final piece formatting it as a tarot card. I learned a lot more about tarot card meanings as I had to choose a specific card to represent Chappell. I ended up choosing “The Empress” because it represents the idea of femininity and beauty, as well as growth and creativity.
