Rebirth of New Beginnings

Rebirth of New Beginnings, 2024
Acrylic on canvas
8 x 10 inches
I was inspired by flowers and the meaning of receiving them. Poppies symbolize consolation, remembrance and death. I wanted to recreate that concept in my perspective through stages of being a teenager through womanhood.
Throughout my teenager years, I’ve always wanted to go back to being a child, since the curriculum is harder as you grow up. Yet, it's hard to accept the fact you’re growing up when it’s too late. We all have to accept it one day. If I could go back in time to when I was really young I wanted to tell myself, "You don’t have to be insecure about your body just because bad people are looking at you. Have love and acceptance of yourself and be confident," as I try to make the color pallet of yellow of joy, happiness and hope, with a lighter blue of acceptance of truth.
What I've learned from this artwork is acceptance of little mistakes and acceptance of who I am as a person. No one can change that of me. And no one can change that of you, either.
